New York City resident Elizabeth “Beth” Kelly-Peelle is writing a nonfiction book focusing on how attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) affects performance in high school children. Beth Kelly-Peelle belongs to the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA).
Begun more than 25 years ago, the ADDA is the world’s leading organization dedicated to adult ADHD. The nonprofit organization offers support, resources, and networking opportunities for individuals dealing with ADHD in their families.
To help families deal with ADHD, the ADDA launched ADDA Storylines, a mobile and Web app, in April 2015. According to research done by others in the industry, 5 percent of U.S. adults have ADHD, and this app helps those living with ADHD to manage their routines and daily habits. It connects them with ADHD coaches, who can assist with achieving goals. Developed with health solutions provider Self Care Catalysts, the app includes a medication tracker, to-do list, mood tracker, and task challenger. The free tool is available by signing up on the Internet or downloading on Google Play and the App Store, and individuals can access it on tablets, desktops, laptops, or mobile devices.
